Professor Diab Al-Badayneh - JORDAN

Founder of IKCRS. Holds a PhD degree in Applied sociology (criminology, applied social research, evaluation), Formal organizations and Social statistics (WMU, MI, USA. 1990). Al-Badayneh has taught at Mutah university, Police Academy (Jordan). Finance college (Jordan), Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, King Saud University (KSA , where he teaches courses on social statists, Criminological theory, research methods, advanced statistical methods, advanced computer applications in criminology, Information warfare, Statistical analysis using computer applications. Psychology at Jordan University


Research and Studies (IKCRS). At present time he is a visiting professor at the College of Art and Science, Qatar university, Qatar. His areas of interest are Applied Sociology, Complex organizations, Social Psychology, Social Statistics and Criminology. Graduated from Western Michigan University (1990), and his MA in Psychology from Jordan University (1985), and a BA in Psychology/Sociology (1979) from Jordan University (1979). He participated in a summer Institute in Governance, Public policy and civil society, summer 2002, University of Castilla -LaMancha, Toledo, Spain (UME).


 Dr. Al-badayneh’s areas of interest and expertise include violence against women, applied criminology, social movements, terrorism, evaluation, attitudes, corruption, criminological theory, and organizational culture. He approaches his research through quantitative and qualitative methods which lend itself to in-depth interviewing, survey, participant observation, focus groups, and field research. His current lines of research center on: Jordan Youth Social movements (Herak), general strains, radicalization, corruption, security threats, women coping strategies and stigma.


He is the founder of IKCRS. Among his more than one hundred fifty publications are more than fifty referred articles in a international and national journals, including two articles won a national and international awards: Research Award for the Best Research in Psychological Sciences (Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research), and the Award of Association of Islamic Universities on the research entitled: Values of Tolerance in the Curricula of University Education. And more than seventy scientific papers presented at scientific conferences and specialized seminars, in addition to sixteen scientific papers presented in the foreign language of international conferences. 


He has published more than ten books; some of them were re-published, including a book (edit) in English (Understanding Terrorism) with a funded by the scientific program of the NATO in peace and security. Another book was a translating from English into Arabic (APA Publication Manual) and won the award for the best translated book. He chaired and organized more than fifteen international conferences and dozens of seminars and workshops. He supervised more than fifty theses. He holds memberships in several professional organizations such as WSV, and ISS.


He has a rich and varied experience in the area of university administration, at both the local and regional levels. His experience is continuous and accumulated for more than fifteen years. He has occupied a number of managerial position including: Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Arts, the Director of Information and Planning Department, Head of Social Studies (Saudi Arabia),


 and the Dean of Studies and Research Center (Saudi Arabia), Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences (founder), and Dean of Scientific Research (Mutah University and the University of Tafila), and Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, Dean of the College of Arts (University of Hussein), and Vice-President, Technical University (administrative and academic), and Vice-President Hussein Bin Talal University for Administrative Affairs 2007 – 2010.

Dr. Al-Badayneh has developed the Strategic Plan to Combat Violence Against Women sponsored by the National Committee for Women Affairs, and conducted the first national survey on violence against women in Jordan, and also developed the National Framework for the Protection of the Family Against Violence, he is a team leader in Developing Standards for MoSD Social Services (world Bank and MoSD).


Dr. Al-Badayneh is expert in conducting surveys, as carried out the first survey on national domestic violence in Jordan , as do many surves including: evaluating the performance of funds among the poor, and the fear of crime , fear of terrorism and the fear of traffic accidents, and performance MP from the point of view of the voter, and the reasons for non-compliance of the Jordanian citizen of traffic accidents , and violence on the roads, and he chairs a team to study the satisfaction of riders of public transport services in the public sector . His recent publications were on violence against women (in English) , 

and the development of a measure of the stigmatization of AIDS sufferers in the Arab world , and the relationship between females low self- control and reckless behavior in secondary schools. He was the chair of the Strategic Plan in the of social defense of the Ministry of Social Development . 


It also developed a strategic plan for network SHAMAH to combat violence against women, and developed a national framework document to protect the family from violence, and led the team to develop the social standards of care in Jordan. It also represents the Arab region in the Commission on Crime Victims emanating from the International Association for Victims of Crime (WSV) ,


 a member of the society  itself. And chaired and served in a number of national committees including: Chairman of the Committee to support scientific research in the social sciences ( Scientific Research Support Fund ), and a member of the Technical Committee for Scientific Research Support Fund ( Scientific Research Support Fund ), and member of the research priorities in Jordan ( Higher Council for Science and Technology)..
